Compton 1917-1934, S. 54: Der Umschlag zeigt einen fahrenden Zug als Fotoausschnitt, die Blockbuchstaben des Titels nehmen die diagonale Anordnung des Fotoausschnitts von einem fahrenden Zug auf. „No doubt the image was intended to represent Brik's firm commitment to the Revolution compared with the uncertainty of a 'fellow traveller' - a term invented by Trotsky to describe writers who 'are not the artists of the proletarian revolution but its artistic fellow travellers" (Compton).
